La Sportiva's second standalone store in North America opened in Salt Lake City, the indoor climbing capital of the world, inside a former garage in total disarray. Peaks run the full perimeter through the footwear walls and the paint line, a nod to both the Wasatch range and the Italian Dolomites where the brand was founded. Because the space doubles as a community hub, every fixture sits on casters, and the try-on benches roll together into theater seating facing a hidden projector screen. The biggest constraint became the best feature: elevation changes in the building required an ADA ramp, so it was wrapped in acoustic baffles and made into a brand tunnel that reads like rock, now the backdrop for the bottoms bar and the brand's high-performance pants. At the front, the ReSoul Lab, La Sportiva's in-house cobbler studio, gives shoes a second life through resoling and repair.
